To be more profitable and run correctly the bar really needs to be open from about 10 to cater for golfers coffees/breakfasts who will be playing the new course and closing around 1 in the morn, and later in the summer.The bar (drinks side) can quite easily be run by one person, and would need a cook for the food hours dependant on how long the kitchen stays open from, also in a couple of months a waitress for outside orders would be needed from midday through till about 11 pm. This gives an idea of staff numbers that would be needed.

The bar currently operates a bookies at one end, we are the only one for about 6 miles around. This is a grey area as in this part of Spain there is no license that can be bought for this, therefore it is not illegal but not legal. We have had no problems what so ever and have even had the Policia Local in the bar watching Real Madrid V Valencia whilst on duty. The bookies isn't an integral part of the bar but does take very good money, if however the buyer didn't want to run this, there are a number of the other local bookies have stated an interest in renting this. And it would probably raise €800 a month.

The bar has 7 satellites systems and seven TV's, so we can show seven different events at once. On Saturday afternoon we would have 2 on horse racing, 4 live premiership games and either rugby or sky sports round up running at the same time. We have three dishes on the roof which pick up satellite shows from Europe and the Middle East, meaning we get EVERY premiership game regardless of whether it is on Sky/Setanta which we also get.

To allow for the rest of the commercial centre to get up and running, we had the first pick of the centre and chose the position we did due to the 160 m2 terrace whereas most units have about 25m2. Obviously an advantage is the summer. The new golf course opened in Jan 08, without a clubhouse, and this is the nearest bars/restaurants to this. The course will also have 200 homes built around it, so there may be a rent increase should happen as thinks take off.
